Let me start off by saying, this is a great TV. I really really like this TV a lot. This is the best TV I've owned for the money, and it's picture (especially the greens) really makes me proud of this purchase. Yes I know it's the older model of AQUOS that only has the single stand instead of the dual pillared stand that they come with now but look past that. I know it's hard, everyone wants two pillars, but force yourself. Love the single pillared stand. Love it.
Pros:
Great picture with a nice glare-proof screen; I can literally have an open window with the sun beaming right down on it and still enjoyably watch TV. It's 1080p, and really shows it in the vivid and crisp pictures it delivers with very very nice colors. It has the even needed HDMI connection, though only one, and delivers quality images through it. The price has gone down, I see them regularaly for almost half what I purchased it for, and even now I'd think about purchasing it for the same price I originally paid.
Cons:
There is some banding, really noticeable during dark and shadowy games (360's Bioshock, for example, really bands pretty badly when you're in the shadows and looking at a shadowy corner). If you don't know what banding is, take a picture in photoshop with a grey gradient and have it radiate shading from light to dark outwards from the center--after that reduce the color to 256 mode; that's what banding tends to look like as with some gradients it doesn't make the smooth transition from light to dark. It also needs another HDMI input, another component input, and a shiny white finish that doesn't made dust visible if not obvious. Finally the sound is kinda weak and quiet with component imput compared to HDMI.
Overall:
Great picture, wonderful greens, striking shiny black piano finish (if you keep it dusted), anti glare screen, reasonable pricing, and 1080p images really outweigh the cons. I love this TV. I really, really love this TV. If this was Arkansas, you'd have just read a review on my new bride.
